A Maddening State of Madness Edgar Allen Poe is famous, or peradventure infamous, for writing very dark stories. Many of his works act the affect of indulging the reader in to the head teachers of dark, until now evil, individuals. The inbred darkness in his stories are often attributed to the umpteen tragedies he experienced in his own life.
